ARTIST – MAREE HOLT
Some thoughts on my artistic career.
Having a natural ability to paint is only the start in a lifetime of accumulated knowledge.
A painter needs the passion and the challenge to improve, and feels pleasure in doing so.
Some of the most influential teachers for me have been Walter Magilton and Carol Boothman. Thanks to their fearless critiques and challenging suggestions I have learned much.
I have been so privileged to pass on the knowledge inspired by these people, tutoring classes at
the Manningham Art Centre and Box Hill Art Society.
My paintings are of cheerful subjects, the joy of the beautiful Australian landscape and
occasionally of overseas subjects, in fact anything that speaks of happiness and natures beauty.
Some of my awards are:-
