Moonlit Blossoms by Inessa Ivascanin

Features

ARTIST NOTES: It was a fun thing for me to experiment with textures and intentionally change the perspective of buildings, making them lean further into the alleyway. I think this has added to the painting's whimsical and fun personality. I drew inspiration from my visits to various old towns overseas, where I found an appreciation for the stunning old houses in the streets. This painting shows a charmingly quirky alleyway scene that is illuminated by the soft glow of the moon and stars against a deep blue sky. The cobblestone path leads through the alleyway, creating a sense of whimsy and old-world charm. The leaning old buildings, with their weathered boards and peeling paint, add character and history to the scene. The pink and yellow blossoms trees that line the alleyway provide a pop of color against the muted tones of the buildings and cobblestones. It's a peaceful and enchanting place, where time seems to stand still, and anything is possible.

ARTIST BIO

My growth as an artist

Since early childhood, I have had a passion for art that has only grown stronger with time. I have had the privilege of receiving both formal and informal education in the field, which has helped me to refine my skills and develop my unique style. After completing my degree in Ukraine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Primary School Teaching, I moved to Australia in 2002. Since then, I have continued to explore different mediums, including porcelain art, spray painting, oils, watercolour, and acrylics.

One of the most significant factors that have contributed to my growth as an artist is the amount of time I have spent practicing in my home studio. Through countless hours of experimentation and exploration, I have been able to refine my technique and develop my own artistic voice. Additionally, I have been working with children for many years, both in the classroom and as a parent. This experience has allowed me to share my love of art with others and to encourage them to explore their own creativity.

Overall, my journey as an artist has been filled with challenges, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to learn and grow, and I look forward to continuing to explore new mediums and techniques in the years to come.
